Planning and Inspections
Corrosion can have major economic and safety impacts at operating facilities.
To combat these effects, Versa Integrity Group offers a number of inspection planning services to our clients. Our experts have extensive knowledge in hundreds of chemical processes as well as in the causes, detection, and prevention of the damage mechanisms associated with those processes.
We have performed assessments on a wide range of refining, petrochemical, and other process facility units and can leverage those assessments to predict degradation levels and rates in similar project units. Finally, our internal methodology is documented and reviewed so that sources of data and internal decision making are fully traceable upon project completion.
NDT Review for Best Practices
Versa Integrity Group provides extensive nondestructive testing and inspection program review services. Our experts will look at every aspect of your NDT/inspection program to ensure compliance with best practices.
We understand relevant procedures, industry codes, and standards that prescribe how inspections are to be performed and/or special considerations to be employed. Also, we have a number of subject matter experts that can support technicians with a broad base of knowledge and experience.
PSM Review and Development
Process Safety Management was designed to help facilities prevent hazardous chemical releases or minimize the harm that happens should they occur. The principles of PSM are set out in OSHA 1910.119.
Most companies have invested a considerable amount of time and money into creating and implementing a PSM program at their facility. Despite this, a number of serious incidents suggest that there are often gaps in PSM implementation.
Versa’s mechanical integrity review and development program utilizes a systematic approach to evaluating the entire safety management process. Using this approach, the process design, process technology, process changes, operational and maintenance activities and procedures, non-routine activities and procedures, emergency preparedness plans and procedures, training programs, and other elements that affect the process are all considered in the evaluation.
Whether a company is trying to establish a new process safety management system, revamp an existing underperforming system, or improve a solid system to achieve higher performance, Versa can help.
Turnaround projects run with tight schedules with limited resources. They require that a large number of items all happen sequentially and according to plan. If an unexpected corrosion problem appears, it can cause havoc to the schedule.
Versa can provide onsite (or remote) engineering support for your major maintenance turnarounds. Our seasoned engineers have extensive experience with inspection, evaluation, repairs, and remaining life assessments for equipment and can help in several different ways:
- Triage during inspection discovery
- FFS evaluation
- Act as an extension of your own maintenance engineering staff.
Our engineers have hands-on experience with owner-users. We know plant environments and can offer practical advice along with timely solutions that you can use and implement.
